Turkey Entry Requirements from Indonesia

New entry requirements for Turkey: All travelers must complete the health declaration Form for Entry to Turkey. The Government of Turkey has introduced this entry requirement due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Passengers can apply here.

Indonesian nationals who wish to visit Turkey are no longer required to get a visa or a Turkey e-Visa to enter the country.

Even though Indonesians are visa exempt, any holder of an Indonesian passport is required to meet other Turkey entry requirements.

DO INDONESIANS NEED A VISA FOR TURKEY?

No, Indonesian nationals do not need to a Turkey Visa for Indonesian Citizens. Travellers from Indonesia who wish to stay in Turkish territory for short-term stays may do so without getting a visa or electronic visa.

However, Indonesian passport holders can only stay in Turkey for up to 30 days per visit within a 180-day period.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Indonesians traveling to Turkey must fill out the travel health declaration form, called Entry Form for Turkey.

To stay in Turkey longer than 30 days, Indonesians are advised to consult with a Turkish embassy about the requirements for long-term stays. 

Furthermore, to work, live or study in Turkey it is necessary to follow a visa or permit application process. Work permits or student visas for Turkey entail paperwork and making an appointment with an embassy or consulate.

DOCUMENTS NEEDED FOR INDONESIAN CITIZENS TRAVELING TO TURKEY FROM INDONESIA

  • Form for Entry to Turkey – filled out before arrival in Turkey

  • Medical certificate showing proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test, taken 72 hours before arrival
  • Valid Indonesian passport

It’s essential that the passport is valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival. Additionally, it should have a fully blank page for entry and exit stamps.

For stays beyond 30 days, Indonesian travelers should have a valid Turkish visa or permit.

REQUIREMENTS TO VISIT TURKEY FROM INDONESIA

Currently, besides completing the Form for Entry to Turkey Visa for Indian Citizens, Indonesian travelers must follow other COVID-19 entry requirements.

There are several COVID-19 health requirements to enter Turkey, which are as follows:

  • Unvaccinated visitors need a negative PCR test result
  • Proof of vaccination
  • Quarantine for passengers from high-risk countries

At this time, Indonesia is not a high-risk country. Fully vaccinated Indonesian visitors going to Turkey must provide proof of vaccination, but are exempted from taking a PCR test.

Important notice: Indonesian travelers planning to receive their vaccinations ahead of their travel to Turkey are advised to begin the immunization sequence at least 6 weeks before their travel to the country.

TRAVEL TO TURKEY FROM INDONESIA

The easiest way to travel to Turkey from Indonesia is by air. International direct flights from Indonesia to Turkey generally leave from Jakarta. It is possible to fly from Denpasar or Surabaya.

Direct flights from Indonesia to Turkey are approximately 12 hours, but that will vary depending on number of stops.

Istanbul’s airports welcome flights from Indonesia. From the capital of Turkey, it is easy to get a flight or transport to other major cities including Ankara, Antalya, and Ízmir.

Turkey has a few restrictions on what foreigners can bring into the country. There are restrictions on tobacco, alcohol, and firearms.

Those traveling with large amounts of money are expected to declare it to Turkey’s immigration authorities.
